As a history tourist who has visited the Civil war sites of Richmond Va., Manassas and Gettysburg, I am opposed to the censoring of history.

Also, as a tourist, I do not experience how Confederate symbols are used to communicate racist hatred, perpetuate inequality and promote white supremacy against African Americans.

I believe public spaces should be inclusive and understand why Confederate symbols must come down.

Historically inclined tourists and students should be able to view, study and visit Confederate symbols and artifacts, if only to know their history.
