Great topic. I am beginning to question the supply and demand dynamics of writing on Medium. Members keep churning out content hoping for a hit while attempting to support those who support them.
Many of my most read articles are old. They aren't generating much income for me so I presume they are being read off platform by non-members. Great for Medium but me not so much.
It's always had an MLM feel to it that way in that its become a self-supporting insiders club. Still, its a great place to write until you formulate a plan to set up your own shop or build an audience for something else somewhere else. All of which I plan to do when I grow up.
The other question is how much of my own life am I willing to share as "content". Questions of privacy and over sharing arise the longer we are on here. Yet the most personal writing is often the most resonant with readers.
