I have the odd distinction of having been accepted as a writer to some larger publications without ever having been published. I have submitted several times to no avail despite being encouraged to continue submitting.

I was fine with this until recently when I saw that the editor of one such pub declined my piece. I later saw their own recent piece published on the same publication. Quite frankly, the editor's article was a piece of drivel.

I don't expect Medium or its publications to change for my sake but I very much mind being passed over in favour of schlock.
