If I am an NFL owner, I'd consider hiring a black head coach as smart business practice. Given the social inequities around race in the USA and the fact that 70% of players are black, I believe that black players would like play a little harder for a black coach out of cultural solidarity. Herm Edwards, Jim Caldwell, Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith all got strong performances out of players.
Flores also got good performances from average talent. I fear that by launching his lawsuit while he is still a candidate for remaining vacancies, he will create a self-fulfilling prophecy by effectively being cancelled by the NFL.
