Such an enlightening and culturally rich article. I can't recall a recent read I have learned as much from as this.

I never knew the underground railroad went south into Mexico.

It is saddening to read about the loss of history and culture happening in the looming passage of these cemeteries. I sincerely hope some heritage societies and funding emerge to form a preservation strategy.

It is astounding to see the extent to which racial segregation in America is a birth to death affair.

They say that economic growth is the destruction of culture and after reading this, I am inclined to agree.
