The only thing that might save the middle class is an outmigration from the cities to perform remote work in cheaper jurisdictions. The cost/benefit analysis of city living is no longer worth it.

When people can't afford to have families, society is doomed. Our inflationary monetary system has inflated assets with no corresponding rise in incomes to the benefit of the 1%. Remember how free trade was supposed to make us all richer?
