There is no lack of great women artists. To really get to the crux of the issue, it would be instructive to see who financially sponsored the male artists of the eras in question while ignoring their female contemporaries.

Don't get me wrong. I love my PIcassos and Hemingways but to suggest that similar genius didn't exist with women is an incomplete assessment at best.
