Yes, I am from Canada. French Canadians are considered to have a distinct culture. English Canada is very different by region. There is no singular English Canadian culture. As western melting pot society, we have been socialized to be ashamed of our white colonialist history. It's OK to celebrate being French, Scottish or Irish but not OK to celebrate being white. Because Canada is next to the US and that we have a small population spread over a large area, we are culturally insecure. Our public broadcaster tries to define our identity for us, sometimes with success. As we are a winter country, most of our travel is north-south, not east-west. Few Canadians travel across the country. It's too large, too expensive and too cold. Much of our identity is centered around being different from Americans in that we have public health care and little gun violence. In short, we are defined more by what we are not as what we are differs greatly by region
